About the event
Moms are critical in the development of their children. It is important to make sure these moms are cared for after giving birth, to set them up for success in raising a healthy baby. One in eight women suffer from postpartum depression, and 20% of women aren't asked about depression symptoms during pregnancy.
Pediatricians are becoming a vital touch point for new moms in the postpartum period. Studies show that up to 50% of postpartum visits are not utilized, but 90% of U.S. infants received Well Baby Visits (WBV) within the first 4 weeks of birth. Because many women are more likely to obtain care for their infants, compared with their own care, the WBV is increasingly acknowledged as a site of care where maternal health issues can be identified and addressed.
Join TruDiary for Dinner & Conversations: Ask a Doc series, featuring Dr. Alana Arnold, our Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician & CEO/Founder of Premier Pediatric Solutions, as she answers questions from new moms concerning the link between kids' health & maternal health in our communities.
